Singer Rakim Mayers also known as A$AP Rocky, will face trial this October in Los Angeles after pleading not guilty to two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
The charges stem from an incident in November 2021 where Rocky allegedly pointed a semi-automatic handgun at a former friend and collaborator outside a Hollywood hotel.
Supreme Court Judge Karla Kerlin has scheduled preliminary hearings for June 28th and August 2nd, leading up to the trial on October 21st.
Despite the absence of the music star in court, the legal proceedings continue.
The case gained traction after Superior Court Judge ML Villar ruled in November that there is enough evidence for the trial to proceed.
A$AP Rocky, a prominent figure in hip-hop and fashion, shares two children with pop star Rihanna, further adding public interest to the case.
