Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has finally spoken up amidst accusations of neglect surrounding the passing of fellow actress Jumoke Aderounmu, known for her role in ‘Jenifa’s Diary.’
Following Jumoke’s untimely demise on April 6, her brother Adeolu publicly criticized Funke, labelling her a hypocrite for allegedly ignoring Jumoke’s calls for help during her illness.
In response, Funke expressed her condolences in an Instagram post on Monday but faced intensified backlash from social media users siding with Jumoke’s family.
However, during an emotional Instagram live session on Tuesday, Funke revealed that she attempted to reach out to Jumoke’s brother but received no response.
Tears streaming down her face, Funke emphasized that she had no prior knowledge of Jumoke’s illness and lamented the hurtful comments she received online, including threats against her family.
“I was depressed, I lost my mother & my marriage. Stop saying I’ll bury my own children. I have my trying moments too”.
