Gunmen attacked village bordering Kaduna-Kano, kills village head 

In what seems to be a new dawn in banditry, suspected bandits are suspected to have attached a village bordering Kaduna and Kano, killing the village and setting some houses ablaze.

The bandits attacked a village called Marke in Makarfi Local Government, Kaduna.

Makarfi Local Government is the last local government between Kaduna and Kano states.

There is however an unconfirmed report saying the attack was orchestrated by hired killers to kill the village head, Malam Kabiru.

Daily Trust reports from a local source that the village head was hiding inside ceiling of his house when the attackers invaded and slaughtered him, and then set the house ablaze.

The councilor of Dandanonsa wards, Alhaji Amini Sani whole reacting to the incidence said the late village head was burnt to ashes.

He said, “The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of naira.”

Kaduna State Police could not be reached for comments.
