Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General, Azubuike Ihejirika has been giving a fresh appointment in his Abia State.
The retired general is appointed by the Abia State governor, Alex Otti of Abia State to lead the stage security council.
Recalled that the governor has constituted state security council and state security Trust Fund to strategize on the security of the stater and her people.
Announcing the former general as the committee chairman, the governor in a statement said General Ihejirika has all it takes to get the job done.
Recalled that General Ihejirika was Nigeria’s chief of army staff between September 2010 and January 2014, during the regime of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The 68-year-old retired army general is from Isuikwuato Local Government Area in Abia State, and this is going to be his job after retirement, about 10 years ago.
In 2021, the former chief of army staff joined the ruling All Progressives Congress.
