The Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has registered 1,245 pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj operation ahead of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) deadline.

The Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Maruf Ishola, stated that the total sum for each pilgrim from the state was four million, eight hundred and ninety-nine thousand naira (4,899,000).

During an interactive session with intended pilgrims and Board officials, Ishola urged Osun pilgrims to adopt respectable behaviour in order to have a fulfilling exercise.

Ishola stated that the increase in this year’s fee was due to foreign exchange, and that the state government subsidised the fare to encourage pilgrims to participate.

Alhaja Bolatito Adedeji, Senior Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Osun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare, stated that Saudi Arabia has provided sufficient lodging and other critical facilities.

Mrs Nusirat Oladipupo and Mr Oyebamiji Ishaq, two intended pilgrims, stated that they were physically and spiritually prepared to undertake the hajj ceremonies in the Holy Land.
