Ogun had an increase in GBV cases in 2023 – CP

Abiodun Alamutu, the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Ogun State, has expressed concern over the alarming spike in occurrences of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) throughout the state in 2023.

He said this while briefing journalists in Abeokuta on the command’s actions last year.

Alamutu, on the other hand, said that the command worked closely with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Adeleye, to resolve some of the issues. The CP encourages moms to safeguard their female teenage children from predators in order to avoid abuse. With the help of the press, the public, and other stakeholders, we can build a safer atmosphere in which everyone may succeed and live without fear.”
