Rumy Alqahtani: The 1st Miss Saudi Arabia To Compete At Miss Universe?

The Riyadh-born model and content creator will be representing The Kingdom at Miss Universe 2024, a first for KSA

First Bahrain and now KSA… Saudi Arabia will make its Miss Universe debut as 27-year-old Rumy Alqahtani announced yesterday that she will be representing the Kingdom at the next edition of the pageant – another first for the GCC region after Lujane Yacoub from Hamala took to the stage last year.

News broke yesterday on social media as the contestant took to Instagram to share the news. Dressed in a sparkling beige strapless gown with a crown, the Riyadh-born model and content creator shared her excitement at representing Saudi on the world stage at Miss Universe 2024.

“Honored to participate in Miss Universe 2024,” she wrote in a caption on her Instagram, announcing the news to her 1 million followers. “This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition.”

In addition to being Miss Saudi Arabia, she’s also Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021 and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia.) From evening to activewear, the KSA contestant appears to have participated in a variety of categories, always looking poised and elegant throughout each competition.

She’s very active on Instagram.

The model boasts a million followers on Instagram alone, and another two thousand or so followers on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter.) She also appears to be active on Snapchat.

From The UAE To Egypt, Italy and beyond Rumy has had the opportunity to explore the world through her success in pageants. Recently she shared a photo looking relaxed by a rooftop pool in Dubai, which boasted breath-taking views of the Burj Khalifa.
