Seplat Energy Plc has reported that the ANOH gas plant installation works achieved mechanical completion on December 29, 2023, as scheduled according to the amended timetable.

The team’s unwavering commitment to safety and security is evident in the fact that they have successfully completed 11 million man-hours without a single recordable Lost Time Incident (LTI). This accomplishment serves as a monument to their collective dedication.

The ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) is a joint venture between Seplat Energy and NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) Ltd. AGPC is currently constructing the ANOH gas plant, which will have a Phase One processing capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

Once operations begin, the plant will supply clients with dry gas, condensate and LPG. AGPC is expected to sell the petrol and LPG within the country, while the condensates would be sold in the global market.

According to the company’s interim results statement, the further important actions taken to achieve initial gas production included digging and connecting the upstream wells, as well as completing necessary third-party infrastructure such as the OB3 pipeline river crossing and the Spur Line that links OB3 to the gas plant.

The upstream unit operator, SPDC, has recently finished the fourth and final well (ASSN-06), which was scheduled before the first gas, in addition to the previously announced completion of the third well (ASSN-05).

“We are eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the required plant pre-commissioning tasks and vital third-party infrastructure, which will facilitate the commissioning of the gas plant and the initiation of operations.”  The previously issued guideline for the commencement of gas production remains intact’, it stated.

According to Roger Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy, the ANOH project holds significant strategic value for Seplat. Our gas production is expected to increase by almost two-fold, and our primary focus is on achieving the first gas milestone.
