The former manager of the music group P-Square,Jude Okoye has been granted N100 million bail by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, in connection with an alleged N1.38 billion fraud case.
Okoye, along with his company, Northside Music Limited, faces seven counts of money laundering, brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During his arraignment on February 26, 2025, Okoye pleaded “not guilty” to the charges. On March 3, 2025, his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, requested bail on medical grounds.
However, the EFCC’s lawyer, Fanen Anum, opposed the bail, arguing that Okoye is a flight risk and may interfere with witnesses.
After hearing both sides, Justice Alexander Owoeye granted Okoye bail, with conditions including two sureties, each with a similar sum, and one must own property within the court’s jurisdiction.
The court also ordered Okoye to notify the EFCC before traveling outside the jurisdiction. The case was adjourned to April 14, 2025.
