Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her role as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has passed away at the age of 39.
According to Fox News, she was found unresponsive in a New York City apartment after police responded to a 911 call around 8 a.m. local time.
Authorities stated that her death is not considered suspicious, and the cause will be determined by the medical examiner.
Police sources revealed that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and may have experienced complications. Her representative, Gary Mantoosh, confirmed her passing and requested privacy for the family during this time.
Trachtenberg began her career as a child actress on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete and starred in the 1996 film Harriet the Spy.
She gained widespread recognition as Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a role she played from 2000 until the series ended in 2003.
