‘My business goes down anytime I fight Chioma’ – Davido

Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that any time he has issues with his wife, Chioma, his music career and business tend to take a hit.

Speaking during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the singer credited a big part of his success to Chioma, saying she’s had a special influence over him since they were young.

“My wife has always had this thing over me since we were young. Every time I fight her, something bad happens to my business,” Davido said.
“She’ll say, ‘You’re fighting me? But your album is coming, right?’ And I’ll start begging. She has that grace.”

Davido also opened up about how Chioma gets along with his children from previous relationships. Despite his initial concerns, he said all his kids, especially his daughter, love her deeply.

“There was a time I was scared to bring my kids around her, but there’s been a lot of growth,” he explained.

Davido and Chioma met in school when he was 18 and she was 17. After over a decade together, they had their traditional wedding in June 2024. Chioma is now stepmother to Davido’s children from three different women.
