Comedian-turned-preacher Woli Arole has expressed concerns over the state of the Nigerian gospel music industry, criticizing its growing “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism.”
In a recent Instagram post, Arole lamented that invitations for gospel ministrations are now based on personal connections rather than divine inspiration.
He also noted that it has become difficult to distinguish gospel ministers from secular artists.
“The level of hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism in the gospel music industry in Nigeria is alarming. Invitations are based on who you know, not as the Spirit leads. Music ministers too—we can’t differentiate whether you’re a performer or a minister. It’s well!” he wrote.
