The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Cynthia Aigbondon, a middle-aged lady, for reportedly stabbing her neighbour to death.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.
Hundeyin stated that the deceased’s spouse, Lukmon Adio, reported the incident to the Ajegunle Police Division at around 9.48 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the police spokeswoman, Adio’s late wife, Bakarat, had a brief altercation with the suspect while obtaining water from a public tap near their home.
”The defendant is accused of stabbing the late Bakarat with a kitchen knife on the left side of her ribcage as a result of their misunderstanding.
“She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, and the doctors on duty confirmed her death,” he added.
Hundeyin stated that the police had visited the crime scene, recovered evidence, and taken pictures.
He stated that Bakarat’s body had been put at the mortuary for autopsy and preservation. (NAN)
