A commercial motorcyclist, simply known as Rabilu, was reportedly strangled to death by thieves on the Shadadi-Lanto route in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Ayuba John, a source, claimed the event occurred at 9 p.m. on Sunday, when they discovered the corpse in the river.
He said that the victim transported two people who appeared to be passengers from Prison Junction in Kuje town to Lanto village, and that when they arrived to the river, one of the passengers pulled out a rope and hung it over the cyclist’s neck, forcing him to halt.
He went on to say, “They now used the rope to tie his neck and also used a cloth to gag his mouth before they escaped with the motorbike.”
It was also reported that another biker, Kabiru, was attacked and injured in the vicinity last week, and his motorbike was taken.
