At Fifa’s congress in Bangkok on Friday, member clubs voted 119 to 78 in favour of Brazil, making them the first country to be given the rights by an open vote.
A South American country will be the first to host the Women’s World Cup.
“Congratulations to Brazil,” said Gianni Infantino, head of FIFA.
“The World Cup in Brazil will be the best ever.” Also, thanks to the BNG bid, who have been great.
A Fifa study on the bids said that both met the requirements for hosting, but Brazil got better marks for technical factors like stadiums, accommodations, fan zones, and transportation.
In April, the US and Mexico pulled their joint bid for the event, saying they would prefer to bid for it again in 2031. In November, South Africa did the same thing.

The men’s World Cup was held in Brazil in 1950 and 2014.
The women’s event will have the same 32-team format as the one held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023. Spain beat England in the final to win the title.
In the past, the game has also been held in China, Sweden, the US, Germany, Canada, and France.
