After struggling with dating, Suellen Carey, 36, made headlines last year for marrying herself, a practice known as “sologamy.”

However, after just 12 months of self-marriage, she has announced her decision to “divorce” herself, admitting the experience was more demanding than she anticipated.
Suellen revealed that she had even undergone couples therapy with herself and realized the need for self-reflection.
“It’s important to know when to close a chapter,” she shared, explaining how the pressure to meet her own expectations left her feeling overwhelmed.
Despite her journey towards self-love, Suellen admitted that she often felt lonely and recognized the significance of meaningful connections with others.
After 10 therapy sessions with therapist Eduardo Omeltech, she ultimately decided to end her self-marriage.
Eduardo commended Suellen for her self-awareness and noted that her desire to seek a partner now reflects her growing need for deeper relationships.
Now, Suellen is open to exploring new connections, reflecting on her experience as a time of healing and personal growth.
Her story has sparked conversations about balancing self-love with the need for social interaction, reminding others that personal growth is a continuous process.
