Cardi B’s huge black ball gown made a big splash on the green carpet of the 2024 Met Gala on Monday night (May 6).

A group of guys in tuxedos fluffed out Cardi’s huge dress, which covered the ground at the base of the famous steps at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s a perfect arrival since the 31-year-old rapper was covered in black umbrellas earlier in the night to hide her dramatic look before the big reveal. Also, her diamond and emerald jewellery, green bottom makeup, and classic, razor-sharp nails all added a nice pop of colour to her elegant outfit.

“Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” the Costume Institute’s spring show, is the theme of this year’s Met Gala. The dress code is “The Garden of Time.” This year’s co-hosts are Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Chris Hemsworth.

Cardi told The Hollywood Reporter not long ago, “I feel like going to the Met Gala is almost like going to the Grammys.” “Even though we make it look so easy, we’re really so nervous that it makes us sick.”

Shakira, who was also at the Met Gala, and she recently worked together on the song “Puntería.” The two artists were seen making up on the Met red carpet, where they shook hands and looked at each other’s big dresses. Cardi’s dress was black, while Shakira’s was red.
