The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards were hosted on Saturday at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos State.
The AMVCA is an annual award presented by MultiChoice that celebrates exceptional achievements in television and film.
The following is a list of Nollywood actors who have won the most AMVCA awards.
1. Funke Akindele (6 awards)
Funke Akindele stands out for her six AMVCA victories, which demonstrate her flexibility in both comedy and drama.
Akindele is well-known for her portrayal of varied personalities, and she has excelled in humour, winning the distinction of the most awarded Best Actress in a humour at the AMVCA.
This year, the famed director garnered another nomination for Best Lead Actress for her part in the record-breaking film “A Tribe Called Judah.” She is also a contender for the Best Writing in a Movie Oscar for the same film.
2. Osas Ighodaro (Third Award)
Osas Ighodaro, a Nollywood star, continues to astonish in the entertainment world by showing her extraordinary skill and giving fascinating performances.
Her remarkable performance in ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’ garnered her the prize for ‘Best Actress in a Movie/Drama Series’ in 2022. She also won the ‘Best Dressed Female’ award the same year. In 2023, she earned the AMVCA’s ‘Best Actress in a Movie/Drama’ award for her portrayal in ‘Man of God’.
3. Rita Dominic (Third Award)
Rita Dominic, a force in Nigeria’s film industry, has left an indelible imprint with her exceptional performances and striking productions, gaining plaudits and prizes throughout the years.
Dominic received AMVCA awards for her performances in “The Meeting” (New Era Award, 2014 and Best Actress in a Comedy, 2015), as well as “76” (Best Actress in a Drama/TV Series, 2017).
4. Falz (Two Awards)
Folarin Falana, often known as Falz, is a multifaceted musician who has achieved success in both music and movies. He has won two AMVCAs, the first in 2016 for his part in the TV drama series “Jenifa’s Diary,” and the second two years later for Best Supporting Actor in “New Money.”
5. Broda Shaggi (2 Awards)
Nigerian comedian Samuel Perry, also known as Broda Shaggi, has won the AMVCA Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie, or TV Series twice: for Dwindle (Best Actor in a Comedy, 2022) and Inside Life (Best Actor in a Comedy Drama, 2023).

6. Adesua Etomi (2 Awards)
Adesua Etomi has won two AMVCAs. She initially received the ‘Best Actress’ award in 2016 for her outstanding performance in ‘Falling’. She was thrilled again, receiving ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her portrayal in ‘The King of Boys’ in 2019.
7. Ukeje OC (2 Awards)
OC Ukeje is a Nigerian actor, model, and musician. He has received AMVCA awards for his performances in Two Brides and a Baby (2013) and Confusion Na Wa (2015).
8. Odunlade Adekola (2 Awards)
Odunlade Adekola is an important person in the Yoruba-language cinema business.
He has constantly provided outstanding performances, receiving AMVCA awards for “A Million Baby” (Best Actor in a Comedy, 2018) and “Jankariwo” (Best Supporting Actor, 2022).

9. Sambasa Nzeribe (2 Awards)
Sambasa Nzeribe is a Nigerian film and television actress, model, and performer.
He got the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award for ‘Soldier’s Story’ in 2016 and was named ‘Best Actor’ by the AMVCA in 2017.
