The Lagos State Government has announced plans to demolish the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church building in Ifako-Gbagada, Lagos.
According to Dr. Olajide Babatunde, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Enterprise Geographical Information System, the decision was made due to the structure’s failure in structural integrity tests and its clear signs of distress.
The government wrote in an Instagram post:
“The Lagos State Government has said it has concluded arrangements to remove the critically distressed building of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in the Gbagada area of Lagos for failing structural integrity tests and showing visible signs of distress.
