There are reports that over 130 Nigerians have been discovered to be in Kaliti prison in Ethiopia.

The prison is said to house many Nigerians living in a very bad condition, with many of them even dead.

One Lawrence Basil from Delta State is said to have suffering from stroke and that he was denied treatment.

According to a video seen by First Post, a source said, ” I got information that one Nigerian in that Kaliti prison in Ethiopian name Basil Lawrence Ilobi from Delta state suffered stroke and the doctors in kaliti prison could not treat him they ask him to pay money before they will treat him.

“All the Nigerians in that prison are the ones paying for there feeding our government should please transfer them back to Nigerian prison to save their life last year before Christmas 2 of Nigerians died in that prison uchenna Nwanoneme and Favor Chizorba Eze died in that prison and our government did not do anything about that no investigation about why the been arrested in Ethiopian Airport and abike dabiri who is in charge of Nigerians in diaspora is telling lies saying all of them are on drugs and is not true. I’m staying here in Ethiopian I know some of them are innocent why some committed one offence or the another,” according to the claim by the source which was not independently verified by First Post.

He added that, “Nigerian our country belong to all of us, nobody owns the country special. The president, minister of justice, minister of foreign affairs and order meaningful Nigerians and every body that love our country should help and make sure this people are transferred back to Nigerian prison to save their life please.”
