Nigerian asked to resign for allegedly 'supporting' banditry

Nigerian Defense Minister of state, and former governor of Zamfara has been asked to resign from his new role.

Bello Matawalle and the present governor of Zamfara state are in logger head, with accusations and counter accusations in relation to supporting banditry in the state.

The minster has in several occasions denied involvement in supporting the crime in ana way.

Governor Dauda Lawal, has in a program on TVC on Wednesday, said, “If I were him, I would resign and face all the allegations against me because, from all the information we are getting, my predecessor was fully involved in some of this banditry.”

It is not the first time Matawalle will face accusation of sponsoring banditry.

An Islamic cleric in Sokoto, Sheikh Murtala Asada has also accused of dining with bandits.

In many video clips the popular sheikh specifically accused Matawalle of dining with Turji.
