Self-acclaimed investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has stirred controversy with her recent claim that the incarceration of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, is not due to naira abuse as previously reported.
Bobrisky was initially arrested for allegedly defacing naira banknotes, a charge to which he pleaded guilty in early April 2024.
On April 12, 2024, the Internet sensation was sentenced to six months imprisonment with no option of a fine, citing “abuse and mutilation of Naira notes.”
In a tweet on Sunday, Olunloyo asserted that Bobrisky’s imprisonment is actually linked to charges related to homosexuality, contradicting earlier reports by the EFCC.
“#Kemitalksexposé
Bobrisky is not in prison for Naira abuse. The EFCC lied to you. He’s there for practicing homosexuality“, she tweeted.
