Nigerian entrepreneur and chairman of the Cubana Group, Dr. Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has announced plans to establish a tricycle assembly plant in Ebonyi State.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, after meeting with Governor Francis Nwifuru in Abakaliki, Obi Cubana praised the state government for creating a peaceful and business-friendly environment. He highlighted improved security and infrastructure as key factors that influenced his decision to invest in Ebonyi.
The new facility will focus on assembling and selling tricycles, contributing to job creation and industrial growth in the state. Obi Cubana emphasized the importance of investing in his home region rather than focusing solely on other states.
“As businessmen, we cannot continue investing elsewhere while neglecting Ebonyi. One of our major partners is from this state, and we are committed to supporting the government’s job creation efforts,” he said.
He also noted that the project would play a role in boosting industrialization and agro-business ventures. Preparations are already in progress, and significant developments are expected in the coming months.
This initiative is expected to create job opportunities and drive economic growth, positioning Ebonyi as a rising hub for business and industry.
