Senegalese footballer, Sadio Mane and his wife, Aisha Tamba, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. To celebrate the birth, Mane dedicated his goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Kholood on Friday to his daughter.
Mane, 32, married 19-year-old Tamba last year in a private ceremony in Keur Massar, a suburb of Dakar, just days before the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
They had kept their relationship secret until their wedding, which was attended by close friends, family, and fellow footballers.
Reports say that Mane met Tamba when she was a student and promised to marry her when they started dating.
Now, 14 months after their wedding, the couple has become parents. This milestone was confirmed by Mane’s Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr.
In his celebration, Mane cradled his arms to honor his newborn daughter. His goal came after Cristiano Ronaldo’s early opener, and Jhon Duran sealed the win. This victory is important as Al-Nassr seeks to close a 10-point gap on league leaders, Al-Ittihad.
Al-Nassr also shared a video of Mane reciting a Quranic verse from Al-Kahf (18:46), which says: “Wealth and children are the adornment of this worldly life, but the everlasting good deeds are far better with your Lord in reward and in hope.” The club wished him and his family endless joy, praying for their daughter’s righteousness.
