American pop star Selena Gomez has officially become a billionaire, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index.
Her estimated $1.3 billion fortune comes primarily from her Rare Beauty brand, along with her music career and successful TV shows.
More than 80% of Gomez’s wealth comes from her stake in Rare Beauty Inc., while brand partnerships, acting roles, and mental-health ventures also contributed to her growing net worth.
Gomez first gained fame as a child star in the 2000s, earning around $3 million for her role as Alex Russo in Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012.
She later launched a music career, first with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene, and then as a solo artist.
With 424 million Instagram followers, Gomez is the third most-followed person on the platform, behind only soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Despite this, music tours account for less than 5% of her wealth, and album sales for less than 2%, as she hasn’t toured since 2016. Most of her fortune — about $1.1 billion — comes from her ownership stake in Rare Beauty.
