Singer Reacts to AI-Generated Photos of Katy Perry at the Met Gala 2024 That Go Viral

Despite Katy Perry not attending this year’s A-list event, artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images of the pop queen at the Met Gala 2024 have gone popular on social media. The “Roar” singer is seen in one of the photos standing on the stairs of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, clad in a light-beige gown trimmed in moss and embellished with flowers. Her hair was arranged in soft waves with a central part till it reached her waist. The 39-year-old is also seen with a faint red lip and little makeup on.

Millions of people liked and saw the AI images on Twitter (previously X). They even got Katy Perry to respond to the widely shared bogus photos. The singer joked about the AI-generated photos on Instagram, sharing them with the comment, “couldn’t make it to the MET, had to work.” She also sent a screen grab of a text conversation she had with her mother, who thought she was present at the function. She responded back, “Lol, mom, the AI got you too, BEWARE!”

Social media fans, however, were certain that the “Firework” singer made a message at the event even though the photos were staged. They all decided that Katy Perry’s new appearance was the highlight of the evening.

One commenter said, “Katy Perry has the best dress at the Met Gala so far.” Another person said, “The AI image of you was better than all of tonight’s creations.”

“I honestly thought this was true when I reposted it. You ATE in the metaverse, therefore AI is getting much too good,” said a third person. Another person said,
“The second photo looks so doll-like, so perfect.”
One Instagram user said, “You had the most iconic look of all, and you didn’t even attend.”

Katy Perry hasn’t been to the Met Gala since 2022, according to Page Six. She has previously attended Met Galas dressed as a hamburger and a chandelier.

The Met Gala this year had “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” as its subject, and “The Garden of Time” was the required attire.
