Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dissolved the Ministry of Local and Chieftaincy Affairs following a Supreme Court ruling that grants local government areas autonomy across Nigeria.
In addition, Dr. Adamu Sambo Umar, Commissioner of Health, has been removed as part of a broader governmental reshuffle aimed at enhancing performance.
This was revealed on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony of three new commissioners and a special adviser on security at the Governor’s Office.
Governor Mohammed emphasized the need to reorganize his administration, bringing in fresh talent to drive progress.
He clarified that Umar’s removal wasn’t due to misconduct, but rather a reorganization strategy.
He assured that Umar would be reassigned to a more suitable role within the government soon.
The newly appointed officials include Zaibab Babba Takko for Women Affairs and Child Development, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam for Health, and Engr. Mohammed bn Abdulkadir for Commerce and Industries.
