In response to the host’s question about the point at which she recognized her own success, Tems said, “I knew I’d blown and gone far when I got a DM from Rihanna.”

Tems had previously collaborated with Rihanna on the soundtrack for “Black Panther 2,” co-writing the song “Lift Me Up.”
