Senator Rufai Hanga, representing Kano Central District, has explained his donation of 2,000 clay pots and 10,500 yards of white cloth to Muslim graveyards in his constituency.
Contrary to speculation, Hanga emphasized that the gesture was driven by a desire to seek God’s favour and was not part of his constituency project.
He clarified that this act was a longstanding family tradition aimed at supporting local graveyards, dismissing criticisms as unfounded.
“We made the donation to the Kano State Committee for the Graveyards, headed by Dangoribar Kano and District head of Tarauni Local Government. We had found out that clay pots were lacking in most of our graveyards and decided to donate,” he was quoted as saying by Daily Trust.
