Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel has revealed why he forgave his wife, Tanesha Johnson, after learning about her alleged infidelity during his 13-year prison sentence.
In a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, Kartel shared that he found out about his wife’s cheating from his other baby mama while he was behind bars, which left him deeply hurt. Despite the betrayal, the artist expressed that he forgave Tanesha right away, understanding that she is human.
He said, “I forgave her immediately because I understand… I still respect her.” Kartel explained that his wife had been incredibly supportive during his imprisonment, but after being locked up for over a decade, he understood why she eventually sought comfort elsewhere.
Kartel, who was released in August 2024 after being convicted for two murders, also acknowledged Tanesha’s loyalty over the years and her ongoing support, despite the challenges of their separation.
