The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has revealed that 10 teenage girls between 15 and 18 trafficked to Ghana have been rescued.
The girls reportedly rescued by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), were said to have been lured into prostitution in Ghana.
Erewa disclosed this in a series of tweet she shared on her X handle on Friday, June 7.
She wrote: “These are young girls trafficked to Ghana for prostitution . We thank Chief Callistus, Chairman, Nido Ghana for ensuring the arrest of the evil perpetrator. I am sure #naptipnigeria will follow up,Very , very heartbreaking.
“Honestly. the traffickers need to be named and shamed! They are worse than drug barons !! And as long as they are walking about freely , innocent young children will continue to be trafficked!.”
