On 14th April, 2014, exactly 10 year ago today, Boko Haram stroke a school in Chibok and abducted scores of school girls.
The school girls numbering about 276 were abducted in the school located at Chibok Local Government Area of Borno state.
That abduction created a new chapter in terrorism in Nigeria, with hundreds of students abducted after Chibok.
Some of the students have since returned, some are now graduates, some are married and many of them are doing very well which is all courtesy of the evil they befalled them.
Unfortunately, about 55 of them are still languishing in the bush together with the terrorists, many many said to have either been married off to terrorists, or killed in battle field, with some of them reported to have been use in suicide missions.
Would they ever return home? Only time will tell, but their parents are still hoping against hope, praying and hoping they’ll one day reunite with their children.
Their chief abductor, Abubakar Shekara has since been killed by rival terrorists group, ISWAP.
