Hoodlums on Sunday morning have besieged a government storage facility in Gwagwa town in the FCT, and looted stored food items.
Some residents who spoke to Daily Trust said youth in their number broke into the warehouse located around Tasha area in the community around 7 am looting the food items identified as bags of maize bearing a federal government mark.
A resident Jaafar Aminu said the looting was ongoing up to 9 am, when he spoke to our reporter. He said residents from the community as well as neighboring Jiwa and Karmo town were trooping toward the site in anticipation to grab the commodity. He said the situation has caused a grid lock on Gwagwa-Karmo road, that leads to Dei-Dei or Jabi axis, respectively, Daily Trust reports.
