- Real Madrid completed the purchase of Kylian Mbappe this summer already.
- Los Blancos intend to upgrade a few positions still.
- Scouts may witness some of the best players in the game at Euro 2024.
When Real Madrid announced earlier this summer that Kylian Mbappe would be joining them, the largest transfer story in recent memory came to a close.
At Euro 2024, when several players will be trying to impress and land themselves big-money transfers, the Frenchman might steal the show.

Real Madrid’s scouts should keep an eye on these seven Players this summer
Florian Wirtz
- Country: Germany
- Position: Midfielder
Just to be really clear, Florian Wirtz is not joining Real Madrid this summer. The rumoured €150 million Bayer Leverkusen hotshot will have to wait until next year.
Madrid will have lots of opportunity to keep an eye on Wirtz, who is bringing the world to his first international competition.
Though a few more auditions won’t hurt, Madrid scouts probably have seen enough to make Wirtz a target for next summer.
Alex Williams
- Country: Spain
- Position: Winger
Although Madrid most certainly doesn’t need any more strikers right now, Nico Williams’ recent declaration that he wants to play with Kylian Mbappe will have drawn their notice.
Although Williams, 21, is a major target for Barcelona, his recent remarks—which also highlight his contentment at Athletic Club—suggest he has no interest in relocating to Camp Nou.
Madrid is most likely the one who can draw him away.
Martin Zulimendi
- Country: Spain
- Position: Midfielder
Madrid will soon need a replacement tempo-setting midfielder with Toni Kroos retiring and Luka Modric getting close to his own curtain call, and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad is among the best in La Liga.
While Zubimendi is a target for Barcelona, like Williams, he is far too expensive for their current situation. It appears that just one of those doors can be opened, and reports indicate he would only leave Sociedad for either Madrid or Barca.
Because he plays in the same position as Rodri, Zubimendi doesn’t get many minutes for Spain, but that means he will have to work even harder to make an impression when he does.
Kimmich Joshua
- Country: Germany
- Position: Midfielder
Everything seems to point to Joshua Kimmich as a possible summertime steal.
Numerous elite teams are interested in the Bayern Munich midfielder since he is about to reach the last year of his contract and may be acquired for a lower price.
Though Kimmich has been playing a lot of international minutes at right-back lately, his club future is in midfield.
Goncalo Acacio
- Country: Portugal
- Position: Centre-back
Another area that will shortly require a makeover is centre-back. Not making the France squad, Lille’s Leny Yoro seems to be the main target, but Goncalo Inacio is also being considered.
One of the most intriguing young defenders around, the 22-year-old Sporting CP player has a €60 million release clause, and this summer will be the ideal opportunity to assess how good he really is.
Inacio has shown well in his native country, but it will be interesting to watch how he performs this summer against some of the best forwards in Europe.
Silva Antonio
- Country: Portugal
- Position: Centre-back
Antonio Silva is a two-year younger and €40 million more expensive possibility than Inacio.
Madrid might have the chance to choose between Silva of Benfica and Inacio of Sporting this summer if they opt not to sign both players.
Silva will be watched over by other teams as well; Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all frequently mentioned.
Jeremie Frimpong
- Country: Netherlands
- Position: Right-back
Though Jeremie Frimpong is classified as a right-back, any team using a conventional four-man defence would find him to be a divisive player because of his aggressive play style.
Madrid needs to assess if he is the appropriate kind of player to eventually replace the elderly Dani Carvajal, but it’s easy to get caught up in the euphoria around his success with Bayer Leverkusen – 14 goals and 12 assists last season can hardly be overlooked.
Frimpong has to show off his abilities as a standard right-back because the Netherlands don’t use wing-backs. Scouts from over Europe will be watching to see how he adjusts for Euro 2024.
