The governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has again written a notice letter to the state assembly informing them of his intention to come and present the budget.
This is coming few days after the assembly has written to him a letter, accusing him of gross misconduct.
A letter of gross misconduct is a usually the first step in impeachment process.
In the letter which was addressed to the speaker Martin Amaewhule, the governor said he’s plan to present the budget on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
How however said if the date is not suitable to them, they can choice any other day that is best suitable to them.
Fubara said his decision is in compliance with the Supreme Court judgment and in response to the lawmakers’ request for him to re-present the budget.
He said he want to avoid a repeat of what happened the last time he came to the assembly, where he met the gate closed.
