The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has granted an operational licence to the Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, located in Ologbo, Edo State.
This milestone was marked during a ceremony where the CEO of NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, presented the certificate to AIPCC Energy Limited, the parent company of the refinery.
Segun Okeni, the head of technical operations at the refinery, received the licence on behalf of the company.
He expressed the company’s commitment to advancing its contributions to the petroleum refining and gas processing industry.
Okeni also mentioned that AIPCC Energy is working on three additional projects, with one expected to be completed within the next year.
The operational licence represents the final regulatory approval, signifying that the refinery is now fully authorized to commence operations.

The company is also finalizing arrangements with a local oil firm to secure crude oil supplies for optimal production.
