The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) urges Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party, emphasising that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lacks credibility as a political platform.
The PDP criticised President Tinubu’s New Year speech on Monday, characterising it as a collection of deception, unfounded assertions, and hollow commitments.
However, in response on Tuesday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, expressed that the PDP statement demonstrated the party’s inability to function as a rational or trustworthy opposition party.
The APC stated that even if the status of opposition party were subject to scrutiny, the PDP would still fail to meet the required standards. We implore Nigerians to steadfastly support the APC administration led by President Tinubu as he fulfils his electoral commitment to enhance the quality of life for all citizens.
The nature of democratic opposition politics does not revolve around exhibiting a high level of rudeness or making baseless accusations.
Furthermore, it does not pertain to a pompous exhibition of unawareness regarding crucial social and economic strategies, nor does it involve a deliberate disregard for the administration’s audacious and valiant endeavours to elevate the standards for sustainable growth and development in our nation.
The persistent insanity of the PDP is a detrimental factor to our democracy. Both in terms of its tone and its content. The New Year address presented by President Tinubu was characterised by its calm, sensitive, and articulate nature. It displayed a high level of presidential demeanour and was perfectly suited for the purpose and occasion.
A president’s New Year speech serves as a kind message to the nation, commemorating the arrival of the new year. This is a crucial time to establish the desired standards and anticipations for the upcoming year.
This is not a policy speech presented to a think tank. The PDP lacks a fundamental comprehension of the essence of a new year address, which remains elusive to them due to their extremely deluded state.
