Former president Atiku Abubakar has blasted president Bola Tinubu for declaring state of emergency in Rivers State.
Atiku posted on his Facebook page that the action by the president is a political manipulation, “that was done in bad faith.”
Atiku accused Tinubu of taking side in the crisis, saying he should done better in managing the crisis.
“Beyond the political scheming in Rivers, the brazen security breaches that led to the condemnable destruction of national infrastructure in the state land squarely on the President’s desk,” Atiku said.
“Tinubu cannot evade responsibility for the chaos his administration has either enabled or failed to prevent.”
President Tinubu has earlier appointment former Navy Chief as the sole administrator to take over from Governor Simi Fubara for the period of six months after declaring state of emergency in the state.
Tinubu accused Fubara of doing nothing as militants start attacking pipelines in the state.
