Kano State Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa has warned staff working under the ministry and it’s parastatals to avoid lateness or absenteeism while discharging their primary assignment.
Umar Doguwa gave the warning today Wednesday 17, while addressing Senior Staff of Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSMB) and Science and Technical Schools Board (STSB) during a management meeting with staff held at the Boards Conference Halls.
The Commissioner reminded the Staff that as civil servants, their main duty is to become loyal and committed to the government they are serving so that people in the state would benefit from the results of their hardworking.
Umar Doguwa who called on the staff to avoid being partisan and imbibe the spirit of dedication to duty, emphasized that government would no longer condone any act of sabotage that could undermine its effort of improving the education sector.
On Science and Technical Education, Umar Doguwa explained that the present administration had developed keen interest to initiate and implement sound policies and programmes aimed revitalizing Science and Technical Education in the state.
” As part of this effort, we are going to make general renovations of our schools, provide them with needed infrastructures and also make reshuffle men to upgrade their operation.
” It is very clear that this government has budgeted 29.7% of the 2024 state Budget to Education and this shows how committed the administration is in safeguarding the sector ” he stated.
According to him, what the present administration is expecting from the staff is hardworking and commitment which eventually leads to the success of government policies on education.
Regarding the illegal occupation of some schools houses by non working staff, Umar Doguwa maintained that the ministry would soon start allocating those houses to it’s workers who are desperately looking for accommodation to alleviate their suffering.
Th Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai and his counterpart of Science and Technical Schools Dr. Dahiru Saleh Muhd commended the Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for according to the two Boards all the necessary supports.
They assured the Commissioner of their total commitment to bring new innovations that would enhance the Boards performance.
