Dangote Petroleum Refinery has clarified that its recent diesel price cut to N940 per litre is applicable only to customers purchasing five million litres and above.
Mr. Anthony Chiejina, the Head of Communication, stated in a Tuesday announcement that the price of N970 per litre is for customers buying one million litres and above.
This marks the third diesel price reduction by Dangote Refinery, with the company previously lowering prices to N1,000 per litre from N1,600.
The refinery, which entered the Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) market, has had a significant impact on the West Africa oil & gas industry since its commissioning on May 22 last year.
Despite its presence, the facility is yet to commence fuel sales.
Standard and Poor’s Global Commodities predicts that Dangote Refinery will begin selling fuel in the fourth quarter of 2024.
