The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned Malam Jalal Arabi, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), to account for the expenditure of a N90 billion subsidy allocated for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.
Insiders at the EFCC revealed that Arabi is expected to offer a thorough breakdown of how the commission distributed the substantial funds meant for the pilgrims.
This subsidy was part of the federal government’s financial support for the annual religious journey.
