The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has announced that it has identified the sponsors behind the planned nationwide protest.
Reports indicate that various groups in Nigeria are organizing a protest between August 1 and 10 to address the rising cost of living and economic challenges in the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Paul Odenyi, the deputy director of press at NOA, confirmed that the agency has successfully pinpointed the sponsors and potential hotspots for the protest.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, the director-general of NOA, emphasized that the protest organizers aim to portray Nigeria as unstable to the international community.
Issa-Onilu called for dialogue instead of disorder and stated that the identities of many key figures behind the protest, including their overseas collaborators, are known.
The government is taking steps to thwart their plans.
According to him, the protest is not genuinely about governance or the economy but is a strategy to destabilize the country and incite violence for political purposes.
“The identities of many of the brains behind the protest have been known, along with their collaborators who are safely residing abroad, and the government is taking necessary actions to stop their subversive plans,” he said
NOA said it is enhancing its civil intelligence efforts and is engaging with community leaders, parents, and youths across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas to encourage vigilance and preventive actions.
