Former Nigerian senator dies

Second Republic Senator Otunba Kunle Oyero has passed away at the age of 100.

Representing Ogun Central in the Senate during the Second Republic, Oyero was honored with a colloquium titled “Legislation in Nigeria: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” by the Abeokuta Grammar School Old Boys’ Association in November 2023, on the occasion of his centenary birthday.

Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu of Ogun Central Senatorial District expressed deep condolences, highlighting Oyero’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s development, including his role in the drafting of the 1979 Constitution.
