ISFAT Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has trained school girls on menstrual hygiene in Kaduna state.
Speaking at the event, Hajiya Fatima Raji, urged the students to be bold enough to end stigma on mensuration.
Raji and her team of friends, including Hajiya Amina Mohammed, Hajiya Shamsiya Sa’ad, Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahi, Hajiya Saadatu Balele Wali, Nurse Mustapha R. Temitope, Nafisa Suleiman, Hajiya Raji Nafisa, and Hajiya Ahmed Maryam were at Government Girls Secondary School, Maimuna Gwarzo, Ungwar Sanusi, Kaduna State, to sensitize the students, and distributes sanitary pads to them.
Raji added that many poor and vulnerable girls are unable to afford sanitary pads due to high cost.
“Pads should be affordable and available for girls.”
