The Kano Concerned Citizens has called on the inspector general of police and other security outfits in the country to as matter of serious national security, caution the NNPP leader and former Kano State Governor Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The group’s secretary, Comrade Muhammad Auwal Shuaibu, in a press conference held yesterday, in Kano, faulted the brazen way the Kwankwasiyya leader spoke. He said ” it is sad such a leader could make unguarded utterances which has grave implications on both Kano and national security. Kano and indeed the entire country is greater than any individual. His baseless claims and allegations that the federal government, and APC are breeding a band of new Boko Haram, is not only saddening, but goes to show how shallow and petty Kwankwaso could be in order to score cheap political goals, especially among his supporters.
He continued, ” the pugnacious and inciting comments by Sen Kwankwaso, especially when he literally said he would rather die alongside his antagonist(s), “mutuwar kasco”, is unbecoming of someone who claims to a leader”
Comrade Shuaibu further stated that, ” so far, we must commend the Kano State Police Command under CP Mohammed Gumel for his professionalism in handling the Emirate tussle. For identifying with the position of the law is the highest form of dedication to duty, even when faced with the threat by Kano State Government. On the issue of the order for demolition of the Nasarawa Palace of Emir HRH Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, by the state government, comrade Shuaibu concluded that, ” it has proven that the State government has a knack for, and is synonymous with destruction of properties. It has shown that they are the instigators and enemy of Kano. Because, even today, as we speak, each local government across the 44 local government in the state were requested to provide a bus full with armed thugs, to come into the city”
Speaking in the same vein, the co convener of the group, Amb. Abdullahi D Mohammad, said, ” the needless and unnecessary tension in State, exacerbated by utterances of Sen. Kwankwaso and his ilks is disheartening given that, he has amongst his support base, individuals who believed in him. So, such statements are callous. It is about time security agencies invite him for questioning. We can’t leave anything to chance”.
He continued, ” parents should warn their children to steer clear of the ongoing Emirates tussle. It is a game and fight for the elites. Daily, we see truckload of youths armed with dangerous weapons, and hard drugs being brought to Kofar kudu of Emirs Palace. This is particularly sad, because, their children are safely schooling in the best schools outside the country, why would children of the masses be used by Sen Kwankwaso to achieve his ulterior motive” , he queried.
During the conference, different speakers raised concerns about how manipulative some politicians are, especially in a bid to torment trouble and also urged security agencies to quickly call to order, those making inciting comments capable of throwing Kano into a needless and avoidable crisis
