How N2.59trn FAAC allocation was shared among states in the first half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursed a total of N2.59 trillion among the 36 states of the federation, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Delta State received the highest allocation with N260.75 billion, followed by Rivers State with N197.23 billion, and Akwa Ibom with N179.10 billion.

Lagos State, Nigeria’s economic hub, was allocated N161.07 billion, while Bayelsa State rounded out the top five with N157.73 billion.

The top ten states, which also include Kano (N84.76 billion), Oyo (N66.75 billion), Edo (N65.88 billion), Anambra (N65.45 billion), and Ondo (N65.43 billion), collectively received a significant portion of the total allocation.

At the lower end of the spectrum, states like Cross River (N40.08 billion) and Ogun (N40 billion) received the smallest allocations.

Below is a breakdown of the FAAC allocations for each state:

1. Delta: N260.75bn

4. Lagos: N161.07bn
5. Bayelsa: N157.73bn
6. Kano: N84.76bn

19. Enugu: N52.58bn
20. Sokoto: N52.03bn
21. Adamawa: N50.58bn
22. Taraba: N49.89bn
23. Zamfara: N48.08bn
24. Bauchi: N47.79bn
25. Yobe: N47.67bn
26. Nassarawa: N47.02bn
27. Kaduna: N45.77bn
28. Plateau: N45.40bn
29. Kogi: N45.36bn
30. Ebonyi: N44.65bn
31. Osun: N44.39bn
32. Kwara: N44.29bn
33. Gombe: N42.85bn
34. Ekiti: N42.33bn
