Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has mandated senior police officers to ensure the safety of participants in the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest, scheduled from August 1 to 10, 2024.
This directive follows a request from human rights lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, who sought police protection for the demonstrators.
In a letter dated July 29, 2024, and signed by CP Johnson Adenola, Egbetokun instructed the police leadership to accommodate Adegboruwa’s request.

Additionally, Egbetokun has invited Adegboruwa to a meeting in Abuja on July 30, 2024, to discuss the matter further.
