Just 18 months after he rose to the throne, King Charles III’s reign was plagued by a cancer diagnosis, with a report even claiming that the monarch had been given two years to live.

In the case of Charles’ demise amid his cancer battle, his funeral plans have reportedly been lined out already. The monarchy itself has been thrown into an upheaval since Charles’s condition was made public as future queen Kate Middleton was also sidelined to recover from an unnamed cancer.

King Charles III’s Funeral Plans Have Allegedly Been Released

According to In Touch, Charles’ funeral plans have been outlined and unveiled as the ruling monarch continues to battle an undisclosed form of cancer.

The monarch’s funeral procession, named “Operation Menai Bridge,” will look similar to his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s ceremonies, dubbed “Operation London Bridge.”

“Operation Menai Bridge” will see some familiar protocols, including his body being moved from the throne room at Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. He will lie in state, and his official funeral will take place nine days later. He will likely be buried in the royal vault at Windsor Castle.

“It’s a fairly common thing to do among the British royalty, but in Charles’ case, expediency is necessary,” a royal insider said of the plans, adding that “some courtiers believe Charles’ cancer is worse than they’re making it out to be.”

According to the news outlet, Charles’ cancer diagnosis is declining as a source shared that the king is presumably battling something more than just cancer after doctors allegedly gave him just two years to live.

“King Charles is much sicker than the palace lets on and simply isn’t up to the job of running his fractious family, the crown’s business interests, and fulfilling the daily duties of the monarchy,” the royal insider told In Touch. “His cancer is eating him alive. He’s very frail. The situation is desperate.”

It comes amid his absence from the public eye as he continues to treat the disease. His royal schedule has also seemingly raised eyebrows after the royal calendar for the foreseeable future has him MIA.

Although he is expected to make an appearance at Windsor for service on Easter Sunday, his future program schedule has him employing the services of his sister, Princess Anne, to do their royal work.
