A member of the House of Representatives from Abia State, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has rebutted recent statements made by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu concerning the state’s political landscape.

Kalu had suggested that by 2027, Abia State would be under the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the current Labour Party (LP) governor, Alex Otti, being the last LP governor of the state.

Aguocha, who is affiliated with the Labour Party, rejected Kalu’s projections, asserting that there will be no room for APC dominance in Abia by 2027.

He expressed strong confidence that Governor Otti will be re-elected due to his accomplishments and criticized Kalu for what he deemed as disrespectful and unjustified remarks about both the governor and the Labour Party.

According to Aguocha, Kalu’s comments were both condescending and indicative of a lack of humility.

He urged Kalu to focus on his legislative duties and address regional issues rather than making what he described as reckless political statements.
