Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, has officially switched his allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made on Saturday in Benin City, the capital of Edo State. Shaibu’s move comes alongside key figures from the Legacy Group of the PDP, led by Dan Orbih.

In his statement, Shaibu said, “We are transitioning to the APC to bring our expertise and value to the party. We are determined to reclaim our state, and our actions will demonstrate our commitment. We are prepared to move forward with determination.”
Shaibu also expressed support for APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, asserting that while they seek constructive progress, they are also prepared to face any challenges that may arise.
